About Julie Thomas
Hi, I’m Julie Thomas and my memory crafting journey began in 2005 when a friend took me to a Creative Memories workshop.
My intention was to complete 1 album for a family holiday we had just returned from.
I wanted to print my photos and record our holiday rather than leave them on the computer where they would not be seen.
Facing my fears
I walked into that workshop with trepidation, not really knowing what to expect, but clearly stated to the consultant that I had no intention of buying anything as I was only doing one album.
I just wanted to learn how to capture my memories in an attractive and engaging way for the family to reminisce with, and to share with friends.
By the time I was finished that first holiday album, my attitude had completely changed. – Julie Thomas
Not only was this a lot of fun, but I could see the value in memory crafting, preserving my current memories as well as all my memories from years gone by, all in archival quality albums.
Stirring the amateur historian inside
And the amateur family historian in me also got excited.
Here was a method of storing all those old photos and memorabilia I had collected about my ancestors in an organised manner that I could easily share with family and friends.
Memory Crafting with Creative Memories brought a whole new creative side of me that I never knew existed until now.
And the family (husband and 2 daughters) absolutely loved seeing the pages I created, and the memories I preserved along the way.
The completed albums are now brought out quite regularly to show visitors, or just to reminisce about some aspect of our lives.
Memories upon memories
Ten years and many albums on, I got the opportunity to become a Creative Memories Independent Advisor in late 2015 when Creative Memories relaunched in Australia.
It now gives me great pleasure and a lot of satisfaction to help others in their memory crafting journey, preserving their memories and getting photos off the digital media and into quality archival albums for preservation and for easy sharing with others.
I do this through workshops in various venues around the Limestone Coast, by attending selected events and markets, and by also having workshops in private homes at times that suit the client if they can’t get to my regular workshops.
One year on from becoming Julie Thomas Creative Memories Independent Advisor I attended the 1st Anniversary celebrations in Adelaide of Creative Memories in Australia.
I was pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed to receive 2 awards that day. 1st place in South Australia for personal sales and 4th in South Australia for team sales. It was a wonderful accolade and I certainly thank my customers as without them, this would not have been possible.
If you would like some assistance in your memory crafting journey, I would be very honoured if you contact me to assist you where ever I can.
